This Month's Bs

The 7th month comes to an end today. Time flies. As I close with this post, there's nothing I can think of but the blessings that paved through the past 31 days. To this, I thank the Lord.

Books
This month blessed me with books that I really love ~ all purchased with the best deal ever! What a blessing Booksale is! It has been filling my shelves little by little all through these years. It's giving me so much joy.

Coming across with my post Clean.Read.Blog. once again, my bookshelf really looked like this:

With my love for reading and realizing my books needed more shelves to fill, it has grown into this:

I still don't have a lot actually. But I am thankful how they are multiplying. The books in my shelves are really my choicest ones and some are precious gifts. On top of it all, this 7th month blessed me with the completion of this:

Happy, happy, happy me! :)

Band
This month, for the record, filled me and the people around me with the greatest of surprises. Challenging is an understatement, so is tough and nerve-racking. Better left unsaid. But the Lord blessed me with the coming of this group ~ which I can really say I am a fan. With all those things happening around, better yet praise the Lord. And so, praise I did.

The entrance/ticket was free and I was able to get a good-viewing seat. What a treat for the end of the week!

Blog
And most of all, I am happy to be back here, striking and banging the keys. It's in this month I am able to return to my 5-posts-per-month discipline (my self-induced pressure). I've been a poor blogger for the past two months. My busy life manifested through my blog. Haha! So I tried to get up once again by posting with & about something light. I think my trying succeeded.

There are a lot of things/blessings I am thankful to the Lord for this month. I just focused writing about the Bs this time.

Maybe next time, I'll try the ABCs. :)

Love Revisited on a Weekend

"The Lord loves us for who we are,
not for what we should be",

Jason Roy of Building 429 said over the mic in the midst of the crowd.

It struck me.
It gripped my heart
~ really.

It is comforting to know and be reminded over and over again that God's love is pure, deep, and genuine (and all other adjectives we can think of). It demands no performance on our part. He loved us from the beginning and He always will. We can walk with humble confidence, knowing the truth, living with the identity that Someone loves us so much ~ despite our lousy life, despite the sin, despite the mess.

The past 7 days took an unexpected toll on me. I know deep within, I needed to have a point of release or to simply shrug some tensions away. Encouragement seems nowhere.

A timely blessing Building 429 was on town, just this past weekend. I was ecstatic! I have been grooving over their songs for the past months, that I even posted about them in my Grooving For Something Light.

So, I decided to rock it all out and praise the Lord amidst the surrounding and awaiting odds. I took a few pictures (Sorry, I was not really focused into taking good pictures that time.) to remember one of my most-loved, blessed and encouraging weekends.

"The Lord loves us for who we are,
not for what we should be."

The Lord's love has always a way of reaching, reminding and revisiting us. As for me, it happened on a weekend.

46 for a Teeny-Weeny

I have studied and worked with numbers most of my years. I think I can't get rid of it the rest of my days. So I did try some ways to make it fun & light which I started way back my teen years.

When you happen to stumble on my post Grace Found Me at 17, I hope you will not confuse it with this one. Seventeen is my favorite number. Still is, and will always be. :)

Remembering 46 just puts a smile on me each time I trace back history. It wasn't my favorite number in terms of depth and meaning, but it somehow colored my years. If only I was a basketball player, I would have it on my jersey. A few of my peers identified & associated me with this number because at times, I put 46 beside my signature and I even had it sewn on my P.E. jogging pants.

For the record, none from my family and friends knew anything about the number's real thing. I just drop them with this: It's a sentence that has 46 letters - formulated when I was in my ~ teens.

I am in the stage of spilling the beans in this post but, not totally yet. Hence, this game. If you are in, just let me know. :)

If you are in, drop a letter or 2 in the comments section, and I will fill in the blanks for you. So, I will be updating this post with every letter guess. If you happen to guess the sentence, please don't laugh - promise me. :)

  1. I will supply one letter, E.
  2. An Anonymous reader (thank you) gave her 2 letters, A and S.
  3. A friend of mine, O.

[Update: 01 December 2019]

Yesterday, I married my friend. It is  just right to spill the beans:

"HAVE FAITH BECAUSE GOD WILL GIVE YOU THE MAN OF YOUR LIFE."

A secret no more.

Grooving for Something Light

* I am into the groove of posting something light, hence my previous post. And this one doesn't want to be left behind, too. :)

I always have loved music. And lately, I've been listening and have fallen so much for the acoustic ones. Good thing and it was a blessing, I stumbled upon this channel on YouTube ~ where I found and heard a lot of encouraging and positive music.

Here is but a few of my choicest in my playlist. I hope you'll join me watch, sing along, and hopefully, follow them and search more of their songs.

Different artists, yet they have One thing in common. If you think you missed it, play it again.

You'll see.
You'll hear.
You'll know.

Incidental Collection

My previous posts had been quite serious. So, it's time to take a break. I am here for something light. :)

Thanks to Francine Rivers' blog post that has gotten my attention a few months back. Basically, this is a response to her post, Collections.

Francine Rivers: What do you collect?
This Blogger: I collect...

STAPLE WIRES!

Yes, you read it right. I collect staple wires --- the useless, rejected, unwanted ones.

Francine Rivers (again): And do you have any idea why?
This Blogger (again): I do! :)

You may find it silly - collecting used staple wires. The collection idea wasn't really there. It had somewhat sprung up from what was already there. It was unintentional. It was incidental.

Working in a carpeted workplace a few years ago had made me pick used staple wires around my station. I can't imagine how worried I was about the carpet! I was cautious for the wires not to scatter around. If I happen to remove them from a pile of sheets of paper/documents, I would do so carefully and find a container where I can just gather them and ~ nothing! Just nothing.

And so the staple wires increased and increased as I stayed in my workplace for years and years.

From a small container (where I used to place them), I transferred them to a quite bigger one. Then my 'artsy' sense made me buy a vase just for these wires (Can you imagine?)!

So, my wires found a home in my workstation. It's funny how some of my colleagues come to me with a closed hand saying,

"I saw you're collecting staple wires. Here, take this. I reserved these wires for you."

Some pass by my desk and would touch and feel the wires inside.

Initially, I do not have any idea of what I am going to do with this. But eventually, my mind is kind of working for these wires. Once my vase is full, I will let you know. :)

What makes us collect what we do? Mine was incidental. I think that explains it for my staple wires. But I also think, it springs up from what is already there, from what we already have - those little things that make us happy. Then we let it grow, then to the people we show.

What does the collection say about us? Like Francine, I'm afraid to guess. Next question please.

As for me, I will still be collecting useless, rejected, unwanted staple wires. I don't know how many vases of staple wires I will be able to fill in my lifetime --- never mind. I will just keep on doing what I do.

It makes me happy.
And it is good to see a floor staple-wire-free!
